The History

First of all - ATIC stands for: "Africa Twin Internetional Connection". ATIC-Meetings were born in 1996 when Micha started his famous website for riders and fans of Honda'S Africa Twin. The first Meeting took place in Zell am See / Austria and 19 other meetings followed.

I joined my first meeting in 1999 in Sauerland/ Germany and became infected with the ATIC-Meeting-Virus. In the following years i joined as many meetings as I could, always waiting for the details of the next one to be published and hoping to the time to attend.

These kinds of meetings have been exactly the type of event that i like. Small groups, no pressure, ride with others or alone as I prefer, the ATIC-Spirit, night-time gatherings and the famous ATIC-BBQ's. During the years a lot of new friendships all over Europe have been build (and they are still alive).

Unfortunately HONDA decided to stop the production of the famous Africa Twin. Around the same time, it became more difficult to organize these Meetings for differend, nurelated reasons and - in 2006 - Micha decided to shut down his great project (see:  "Future of ATIC?”).

However, many people still want to keep the tradition of these Meetings alive and a dixcussion started on how to go on.

During this time I decided to start this webpage - so we will see how ATIC-Meetings are going on to progress. Maybe it might change from an "ATIC"-Meetingg to a "What the fuck - I don't care which bike you have"-Meeting.

I hope we can keep alive that wich we call the "ATIC-Spirit.
